You cannot pass your pathology exams by reading ROBBINS. You have to read review books to pass the exams. You need a proper base in physiology to understand what ROBBINS tells you. Robbins is not necessary at all. I swear some of your seniors or batch-mates would have told you at-least some, if not all of what I've mentioned earlier. The fact is, they are wrong as usual.
First of all, let me make it clear at this point itself, I studied pathology only from ROBBINS textbook of pathology. And yeah, I managed to succeed in my final exams in the first attempt ;)

Without wasting much time, let me tell some important points on how to study pathology from ROBBINS.
1) If you want to develop love and interest on ROBBINS and on PATHOLOGY, I'd recommend you to read the chapter "LIVER". Read how pathogenesis of alcoholic liver disease, cirrhosis and other diseases are amazingly explained in ROBBINS. I fell in love with this book after reading liver pathology only.
2) I used an online resource called LECTURIO which was super-helpful for me to grasp few concepts which was difficult for me at that time. Professor Carl, who is a student of Prof. Goljan, is the one who teaches pathology in lecturio. He simplifies all concepts just like that. You must give a try on this.
And guess what, I've got 25% discount for you. If you use my referral link to make a subscription in lecturio, you will get 25% discount.
Before you purchase any plan in lecturio, I'd strongly suggest you to read this post right below to know how to get 25% discount for one of the best online learning resource for medical students, LECTURIO.
3) The best book for MCQ purpose in pathology is REVIEW OF PATHOLOGY AND GENETICS by GOBIND RAI GARG and SPARSH GUPTA. This book gives crisp points in all chapters, plus it is full of nice MCQs. Don't read this book before reading ROBBINS though, because there is no replacement for it.
