The MOST IMPORTANT topic in PHARMACOLOGY | MUST-READ TO PASS | Med Vids Made Simple

What's up guys? Pharmacology is one of the toughest subjects in med school. This is what people think about the subject, which is actually not true at all. It's fun if you find the subject interesting, rather than worrying about just passing your exams.

Now coming to the point, although every chapter in pharmacology is important for clinical practice and for entrance examinations, there are a few chapters which are must know, and are super-important to pass the final exams. In this post I'll be telling about the most important chapter in pharmacology, which you must read and be thorough with for your exams.

Yes, drugs acting on Autonomic nervous system (ANS), is the most important part to be covered in pharmacology. Trust me! If you know inside out of drugs acting on ANS, 20% of your progress is done. So, before starting to study any other topic in pharmacology, make sure you complete this topic.

In drugs acting on Autonomic Nervous System (ANS), you will have to study about :-
- Physiology of Autonomic Nervous System (Location of various receptors and the effects of activation of these receptors is must-know!)
- Beta blockers is the most important of all in Drugs acting on ANS. I've already made a simplified video on beta blockers. Click the picture below to watch it :-

- Even though beta blockers is the most important topic, it is better to start from physiology of ANS, followed by which you should read alpha agonists, alpha blockers, beta agonists and beta blockers in that order.

It will take at-least 3 days if you spend 1 hour each day to complete reading about the drugs acting on ANS. But, at the end of the day, it is all worth it.

You know what chapter is the next most important to study in pharmacology? Hold on for a while, you will find the answer for that in my next post. Meanwhile, try completing studying drugs acting on ANS before knowing about the 2nd most important chapter in pharmacology.

By the way, make sure to check my previous post where I answered some of the common doubts and FAQs on how to study pharmacology. Click the link below for that :-
